Evangeline Vickery earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gordon College and a Masters of Fine Arts degree from Lesley University. During her graduate studies, Evangeline focused on creative nonfiction, but also studied food writing, creative writing pedagogy, and writing ten-minute plays.
Experiencing firsthand the solitary nature of creative writing, she founded The Malden Writers' Collaborative as a way to bring local writers together. The community-based writing group is currently in its eighth season and has enriched the arts in Malden through their annual Public Reading.
Evangeline is available for various kinds of creative collaboration. She's passionate about human connections and enjoys seeing projects through to the end. She has strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive outlook on life, and takes pride in being creative, professional, and detail-oriented.
In her spare time, Evangeline enjoys playing the violin, being a Bostonian, trying new recipes, and traveling with her husband, Andrew Wiedenhofer.
The Malden Writers' Collaborative was founded in 2010 by Evangeline Vickery as a space for local writers to share their works-in-progress and receive constructive criticism through workshopping. Since its inception, The Malden Writers' Collaborative has called the Malden Public Library home between October and May. The group meets twice a month and concludes each season with a Public Reading showcasing members and their work.
