Evangeline Vickery grew up in a southeast suburb of Syracuse in the town of Manlius, New York. She was involved in the arts from an early age participating in private violin and art lessons, dance classes, and various vocal ensembles. After graduating from high school, Evangeline pursued her education at Gordon College, a private Christian liberal arts school in Wenham, Massachusetts. She fast-tracked her schooling and achieved her Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications Arts in three and a half years. Upon graduation, Evangeline relocated to Tiverton, Rhode Island where she worked in public relations and marketing for Living In Fulfilling Environments (L.I.F.E.), Inc., a not-for-profit organization specializing in the care of people with disabilities. She moved to Charlotte, North Carolina for a short time where she worked as a freelance web content editor before finally settling back into the Boston area where she presently resides.
Currently, Evangeline works in downtown Boston as the Office & Accounts Manager for the prestigious violin shop, Reuning & Son Violins. In January of 2013 she earned a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Non-Fiction Writing from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Evangeline’s current writing is focused around family memoirs, food and travel writing, personal profiles, and 10-minute plays.
Additionally, Evangeline volunteers as the facilitator of The Malden Writers’ Collaborative, a local writing group she founded, fostering a writerly community among aspiring writers with a focus on workshopping and the study of craft.
Evangeline also enjoys playing her violin, capturing life’s moments through film, exploring the world around her, partaking in culinary adventures, and spending quality time with her husband, Andrew, and their kitty, Bella.
